Bridge supports

Information brochure

Manufactured dowels are subject to the supervision of the factory production control, for which a Declaration of Performance with CE marking is issued as a product that meets the requirements of PN-EN 13877-3: 2007.

All bridge supports are pillars that are not subject to earth pressure.

What are bridge supports for?
Bridge supports transfer to the ground the own weight of the structure and all loads acting on the bridge, such as span loads and wind pressures.

End bridge supports:
These supports are called abutments. Often they are largely hidden under the layers of the earth, so they must be durable and solidly made.

Intermediate bridge supports:
These supports are called pillars, they constitute the vertical support of the structure. They are most often made of bricks, stone, wood, reinforced concrete or steel.
